WHO

I'm Andrea Bogoni, marketer based in Lugano and CMO at DeepCloud (Abacus Research). Italian, I've been living in Switzerland for several years now. Cars, music and brand stories are my favourite territories, in no particular order depending on the day.

WHAT IS THIS

AD-diction.me is a slow blog that started in 2017. It moves at its own pace, the one an idea needs to settle, not the one a content calendar demands. It's a deliberate choice, even if it will give some growth marketer a rash.

I write about brands, communication, design and music. Often about cars, sometimes about whatever caught my attention enough to want to write it down. When I feel like writing, mostly.

HOW IT'S MADE

It's a static site built with Astro and hosted on Vercel. I write it in markdown and version it on GitHub. Fast, light, fully mine.

Posts published before 2025 are entirely human-written. For newer ones I sometimes use Claude (Anthropic) as a research assistant, but the writing stays mine, from idea to final edit.

Translations through 2023 were done by a dear friend and former colleague (the credit appears at the bottom of each piece). From 2024 onwards they're AI-assisted, always reviewed by me.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Honest writing about marketing, design and whatever catches my eye, occasionally personal, never optimized for engagement. No newsletter popups, no clickbait headlines, no cookie banners, no analytics. This site doesn't track you in any way.
